ClimateAi joins new White House-backed AIM for Climate initiative as 1 of 7 innovation partners at COP26

Glasgow, Scotland — ClimateAi has been selected as an innovation sprint partner for the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate (AIM for Climate), a major initiative focused on transformative climate action in the global agricultural sector that was announced at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) this month.

As an AIM for Climate innovation sprint partner, ClimateAi is pushing innovative action on resilience in the agriculture sector. The ClimateAi team seeks to “climate-proof” 0.5 billion acres around the world by 2024 by deploying the improved AI-driven adaptation insights and decision recommendations needed to boost agricultural productivity in the face of a changing climate. Climate-proofing means using our innovative crop-modeling and climate forecasting technologies (one day-40 years out) to help farmers and agribusinesses adapt to the changing climate, for this season and for the coming decades.

The United States and the United Arab Emirates officially launched the AIM for Climate initiative, alongside 31 countries and over 48 non-government partners at COP26. In remarks at the UN World Leaders Summit during the weeklong event, US President Joe Biden declared that over the next five years, he intends to mobilize $1 billion in investment in climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation.

According to AIM for Climate, the goal is to “reorient agricultural systems to tackle three main objectives: sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and incomes, while adapting and building resilience to climate change and/or reducing/removing greenhouse gas emissions. AIM for Climate seeks to create incentives for, and mechanisms for maximizing the impact of, new investments toward an agriculture sector that is ready to face a changing climate.”
