Over the past year, ClimateAi has seen accelerating interest in climate resilience tools from agri-businesses around the world. Heero Gramsma will lead the company’s business development efforts in Europe, a market that has proven to be a hotbed for climate resilience technology adoption.

Heero brings over 30 years of agri-business expertise from the European potato sector. He served as the Director of Nedato, a large Dutch co-op of potato growers for over 23 years, managing everything from sales and marketing to potato production and packing. As Director, Heero managed the interests of multiple stakeholders including: clients, employees, and cooperative members. During his time there, Nedato grew from €17 million to € 75 million turnover. Heero is also a board member of the European Potato Trade Association (Europatat), a large trade association of European national associations and companies involved in the trade of potatoes.

“It’s no secret that climate change has made it far more difficult to know what mother nature has in store for our farmers each year,” says Gramsma.ClimateAi’s technology will help European agribusinesses prepare and adapt to climate challenges this season — the coming decades. I am thrilled to join the team and help drive the adoption of these climate-intelligent decision tools across Europe.”

ClimateAi CEO Himanshu Gupta notes, “The current pandemic has brought resilience in agriculture supply chains to centerstage. Heero’s extensive experience in the European potato and vegetable industry will enable ClimateAi to accelerate growth and drive the adoption of resilience technologies for both supply and demand-side shocks through their resilience-as-a-service approach.”
